Ethics & Compliance is the discipline that asks the hardest question of all: just because an AI system works as designed and is technically secure, should it be used — and can it be used legally? A model that accurately predicts loan defaults but systematically disadvantages applicants from certain postcodes may be both secure and well-governed, and still be profoundly problematic.
The regulatory backdrop has shifted dramatically.
